And I'm sure that there will be lovely talks about his second video today. It's Sophie's curse and he had chica in the room with him. Apparently, she kept going underneath his desk and was breathing on his lap. I just don't want to read the "I would switch places with chica," etc comments. Other than that, the game got me with some of the jump scares.

I don't see how watching a man have an emotional breakdown over a game because it reminds him of the absolute worst time of his life is an experience. If anything it's just showing how selfish they are and how sick people truly are to find pleasure in someone else's pain. If they think it's gonna be like One Chance or Presentable Liberty, they are fools. Those experiences were tame, mainly because Mark had no actual memory attached to the themes of those games. That Dragon Cancer is about coping with someone you love slowly dying from an illness you can't cure, which Mark knows first-hand. This is not a game for Mark to play, especially if he has to psyche himself up to do it.

And I'm not surprised people would take a sweet moment between Mark and his dog and make it perverted. What is wrong with these kids? Rolling Eyes

idk, they've made perverse comments about Mark and chica before. And I'm like wtf?!! That's why I figured they'd say something about that.

Like you said, I don't think he should play that game. Well, atleast for viewers anyway. I also don't really think him finishing blank dreams is a good idea either. Because, again, people will just want to see his reactions because of Daniel.

I don't know how That Dragon, Cancer will turn out... Especially since his father died from cancer. It will hit him hard to relive all the emotions and probably situations. I'm sure during the playthrough, he will remember everything and will get emotional. I find it sick that fans like to see him cry!! Like what is your problem? You like to see someone in distress/sadness. Ok, it's nice that he's not a freaking emotionless stone or whatever, but to like it?! ... Mad
Same thing for Blank Dreams, he will need to be prepared for the same reason KMS stated.

As for that second video, I find it adorable that he brought Chica with him in hope she didn't get too scared of him screaming haha. It's nice to see that she likes to be around him and she seems (as from what I'm seeing) comfortable, except she didn't seem to be use of him talking louder. I don't know why people would think that way, sexualize Mark and Chica... Seriously...

I honestly shouldn't be surprised, considering the crappy porn stuff you can find on Tumblr. Seriously I'm not joking, there's some fucked up shit on Tumblr that would make a guy on 4chan swear off sex for life! And considering the fucked up shit in Sweden where people are trying to legalize incest and necrophilia, some brat seeing a sweet tender moment with his beloved dog as some perverted act doesn't surprise me anymore.

To be fair, Blank Dream is very tame. The suicide thing is very tiny and addressed right at the start, which he's already played. Literally it was the protagonist jumped into a lake and drowned. Why she does it is explained right before endgame. Actually there's way darker things at play in that game than suicide, I know from personal experience playing the whole game back to front. But the proper true ending, while time consuming to accomplish, is very positive and I feel has a good message to it. It actually might help for Mark to hear it, as well as any struggling with suicidal thoughts. So for that, while I can see it being difficult for Mark considering the tragedy last year, I could see a positive outlook to him finishing Blank Dream.

I see nothing beneficial towards Mark playing That Dragon Cancer except to share the story of a little boy who was unjustly taken from this world way too soon and the pain his family went through during that time.

That makes me think. I've seen people who go to movies with heavy themes or watch tear-jerker TV shows specifically to watch a character or actor get emotionally involved with the plot. And that's fine, it's human nature to desire a sense of empathy and camaraderie and seek those opportunities out. But while they're watching Mark to gain that same sense of empathy, they've taken it to a dark place by "wanting to see him cry" like they would a favorite character. They want to see the character break down, experience something that makes that character vulnerable, so they can be along for the ride...so they can empathize with him, thereby making themselves feel closer to him. If he were a character, it would be fine. As a real person, it's dangerous. The key is they don't view him as a real person, just a method of achieving this state of empathy and fulfilling their need to feel closer to the caricature of him they've created in their head. Neutral

I completely agree with you. they do only view him as Markiplier the character and not Mark the person.

Pretty much. For all their preaching of how they see him as a human being and respect him and look up to him, in reality he's just another piece of fiction boy-toy to play around with. What a sad state to live in where you can't even distinguish between reality and fiction anymore.

Happy Friday, everyone:)!!! The challenge video today was a little on the boring side for me today. Think it was mostly due to the fact that they all were having issues loading the nerf guns.

I agree it was a kind of subdued challenge, and that the nerf guns were a big part of that. If they reloaded properly, I bet things probably would have gone down differently. But it was fun to see everyone's individual personalities come out...in particular, it was interesting to see just how chill Matt is throughout it (except when they finally knocked down his tower Razz ) and how aggressive Mark can really get when he wants to win. Laughing He was practically laser-focused when shooting.

Yeah, it's nice to see Matt's personality come through. Haven't really seen it that much in the past, but, the more I do, the more I like him. And Mark def has a competitive side to him.

The more Mark plays subnautica, the more I love it. It's just one of those games he can play forever and I would not get bored.even if he is just kind of trucking along in it, the visuals are enough to keep me hooked. Along with stardew valley, I like the calmness of it. I hope he has a livestream or plays it as an lp soon. Have to know if wilford and Leah become an official couple Wink

Yeah, Subnautica's video was great Smile It has such a nice visual, survival gameplay and all that kind of stuff. And the developpers still has stuff to add!
I really like Stardew Valley game as well! It's great when he plays that game for livestream because he can pay attention to both the game and the chat and it's more relaxed.
