Re: Markiplier
Hi Dren! I know how you feel. Personally, I was never a big fan of Cyndago's, but the news still hit me (and a lot of us) pretty hard. I guess it's because it was both so tragic and relatable. The first week or so after it happened, I was pretty upset. I stopped watching Mark's videos or going into the tag on Tumblr because the endless tributes only made me feel worse and weren't helping me process what happened at all. Like you said, it feels weird to be upset over a guy I didn't know, but I guess that happens when Youtube gives the illusion of a personal connection with someone.
I don't have many friends IRL, but it helped me to talk to other people about what happened and to find things outside of Youtube to occupy my spare time.
I think when Mark comes back, we'll have a time where fans walk on eggshells around him. Some fans are hurting rather than helping (e.g., screenshotting rude comments about Daniel instead of reporting them, complaining about the lack of videos). But I think that for a while, everyone will be respectful.
I mentioned this on GG, but what I'm really dreading is the point somewhere down the line where fans stop being respectful and start bringing Daniel's name up at every opportunity, thinking that they'll get some sympathy or attention that way.
ETA: Man, it's nice to submit a post without worrying that the site will crash.

Re: Markiplier
Hi, Dren. ::waves:: Welcome! And I promise, you're not alone in this. While I didn't always understand Cyndago's humor, Mark was correct that they always had a passion for what they did, as well as the drive and desire to succeed. That alone was admirable, and I was happy for them whenever something good happened to the group: moving to L.A., bringing Matt into the fold, etc. Not to mention Youtube naturally brings a more one-on-one feeling to viewers, a more intimate sense than you would ever get from television. Viewers felt like they knew Cyndago as friends as well as performers. This has hit everyone hard, and it's been equally difficult to see those other Youtube "friends" impacted so deeply without being able to comfort them.
It helps to find others to talk to. It doesn't have to be IRL people, there are thankfully a lot of resources now on the internet to allow people to share their grief. You can even PM me here if you want, even if all I can do is listen and empathize. <3 I wasn't doing so well right after it happened either, and it took a couple of good friends (who may not have entirely understood what was going on but tried their best to listen) to bring everything back into perspective for me. The grief is still there, but more manageable. And Jack's been a lifesaver during the wave of shock and despair that hit the entire community, consistently uploading videos while tweeting his support to Mark and Cyndago through it all.
I forget where I was going with this. But I wanted you to know you're welcome here, you're definitely not alone in your grief, and I hope Ryan, Matt and Mark will all find peace and comfort soon. Things may never really be the same after this, and I personally think a lot of Mark's fans are mourning that as well, but with time and effort the healing process will finally begin.
Also I agree, Kierans. I worry about the fans who either won't respect Daniel's name and will use it to elicit a response from Mark, or come into the fandom when this is all over and not have any clue who Daniel was or why they should care. I'm already amazed at some of the comments on his "Lost a Friend" video, some of which are definitely not just trolling.

Re: Markiplier
Thank you all so much for your replies. It means a lot that I am not alone in how I feel about all this. It helps to feel validated. I am a bit scared for Marks return honestly. The Lost a Friend video was heartbreaking but I made myself watch it to make this feel real. In a way I'm glad he put in his feelings, because it helps bring closure. I hope Cyndagos farewell is uplifting.

Re: Markiplier
Hi Dren and welcome ! Like Kierans and kei said, do not worry, we feel the same way as you. It did hit some of us pretty hard when it happened and it still shocks me to know that Daniel is gone. I watched some of his/Cyndago's work and they were pretty good, but I still don't know them a lot.
What made me hit hard is I could relate with the feeling and grieving (I lost a close uncle to suicide when I was a teenager). It's scary how it can affect so many people, how it hits us (one of the moment I actuelly shred a tear was in one of Matthias vlog)... In this hard time, we must thank Jack (also Wade, Bob, Felix, Cry, etc) for his positivity and energy to keep it going and give the guys his support.
For the people trying to get attention, yeah, I feel bad about it. I know some people actuelly want to give a sincere sympathy, but the ones that are suddendly an "open fan" of Cyndago to get attention or the ones that make it obvious that wants to give their condoleance (like a lot) is what is going to hurt the guys. I'm trying to avoid the comments even on Pewd's (he posted a video with Mark's face of his video game and people were like "omg! Mark!!!!"). I also avoided a bit Mark's videos but I started to go back and watch some of his series (one of them being the With's House, which I felt bad because Daniel came up in the video)
So, Dren, no worries, you're not alone in this and we're there to support you and each other. If you ever to talk, PM one of us you're welcome here.
P.S.: Sorry I got carried away a bit.... lol

Re: Markiplier
Speaking of which, Mark just posted another update:
...which I would believe, except he has a record of hiding his own feelings to reassure others. And he knows how yesterday's tweets affected everyone, not to mention he's already stated several times his channel was never meant to make people cry. The fact he wrote "excited/exciting" twice is kind of a giveaway. Still, I admire his resolve to move forward, though I'm concerned how he tends to push himself. He usually knows his limits, but then again he's never been in this situation before.
I'm feeling much better about the future and I'm really excited to get back to videos again. We have so many exciting things planned!

Re: Markiplier
I thought the same thing. I'm sure he is excited about the things to come, but it does feel like he's putting up a front to keep from upsetting anyone for his sake.
In the next couple of weeks, I can see him posting another update video or two...and then diving headfirst back into being Markiplier while keeping Mark's troubles out of view for the fans' sake. He did say back in the first Rough Day video that he's good at burying things to the point where they don't affect him on a daily basis. Not sure if that's a good or bad way of dealing with such a huge a tragedy when you're in the public eye, though. On one hand, this may help some fans to move on since it would seem to them that he's done the same. But on the other hand, they may be quicker to forget that losing a good friend to suicide isn't something you "move on" from so easily.

Re: Markiplier
I can understand the annoyances that people feel that there haven't been new videos by Mark and what not. They probably just don't understand I guess that you can't do things when you're just not in the mood. I would like to hope Daniel, Ryan and Matt are good guys at heart despite their humor. Â I think the question that will always stay in our heads is "Why did Daniel just give up?" D: I guess inner demons just get too much after awhile. :/ Sad. I can relate to just wanting to give up.
Mark sure seems to be private Maybe he isn't so much with people he personally knows really well? He doesn't know many of us personally so I can see him being private. There are some things myself I wouldn't want to say to tons, and tons of people so I can kind of understand. People do tend to say "I'm fine" when they're really not though :/
When I first saw the Rough Day video (the 2nd) I thought maybe it was gf related or something. Who knows. I also do wonder how the dog Buddi is. We haven't seen her in awhile...

Re: Markiplier
I read that people who commit suicide without warning do so in a snap decision and because they have the means available. Whatever was eating at him may have been fleeting panic. If he didn't have a way he felt comfortable doing it, the panic may have passed and he could have been OK or at least been able to see beyond what was hurting him. I've been reading a lot on the subject because understanding makes it less frightening. I think we need to be responsible and learn from this. I will try to remember the fleeting nature of grief and share what I've learned. That's how I'll honor Daniel.

Re: Markiplier
That's an admirable way to honor him, Dren. And you're right, learning about something makes it less frightening. I know he had mentioned in a past podcast somewhere how he'd battled depression, but he made it sound like it was all in the past when apparently he was still struggling. The others are clearly trying their best to move forward, though I think everyone knows it's never quite that simple. I'm glad they all have a strong support base to help them through this.
I'm not sure how I'm going to handle Cyndago's last video, frankly. I know they definitely need to make one to provide closure for themselves, but the wound is deep and still fresh for everyone: the three of them, and the larger Cyndago/Markiplier communities. It sounds like Daniel never shared his suicidal thoughts with them, so none of them even imagined they'd ever be dealing with this.
I'm not 100% sure how to read SocialBlade's stats, but it looks like despite Mark getting a steady stream of new subs, his view count has been cut almost in half for the past three days, from 5-6 million to about 3 to 3.5 or so. Not that he's in danger of being destitute anytime soon, and I'm fairly certain when he starts uploading again people will crash Youtube as they storm the place to watch the new material. But in the meantime, I've been silently running a playlist of his in the background on my own PC with adblock off to help even a little. If you guys want to help too, here are a couple of his own links to playlists he's done:
"Awesome games": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6GMYpcFwM0&list=PL3tRBEVW0hiDAf0LeFLFH8S83JWBjvtqE

I suppose I should turn off my Adblock for Mark's videos I do once in awhile watch him on my Kindle Fire and/or Phone, not often but I don't have ad blocks there. My one friend complains of Ads, when we watch Mark's videos..I say well that's how Mark makes money and he deserves it
I am loving his scary/horror game playlist Almost time for Halloween

I agree, Dren. He's posted song lyrics too, which looks like his way of trying to work through this. Much love to him, he's clearly struggling. <3 They all are, but Ryan worked side-by-side with him everyday for years.

Hey foxymoxy WB!
Fun irl community groups are fun I need to do that myself XD What kind of stuff did you do? :O Only community stuff I do really is volunteer at the humane society. When I finish bills I REALLY wanna take some kind of classes like art, maybe yoga or meditation kind of stuff Horseback riding lessons would be fun too. Too cold now in VA for my taste :/
So, did you see Mark's latest video? XD 90% is about how there's porn on his computer. I just had a scary thought, what if his mom sees the video and sees that? I didn't notice until I read the comments. I r not observant. Plus I don't have very good vision. I'm blind as a bat even with glasses!

Thank you! Someone else said it!
Yeah they're filming the sequel to Resident Enis and that wig to cover up his pink hair looks ridiculous and so fake! It would've been easier just to have him wear a beanie!

Haha I remember Mark's beanies. I guess pink hair wouldn't have been good for the vid eh? :/ He wore them during the Five Nights at F**kboy vids right?
*edit* I am excited for the 2nd vid! I loved the first one!

Re: Markiplier
I can't get on GG atm, so let's chat.
I miss the floof too. The beanies were okay, but not drop dead gorgeous like many fans thought. Still would've been better than the wig.
As for before on GG, I'm glad the sjw insanity is nowhere near Mark right now over the dress apart from some small pockets of people. Same thing with the Twitter poll, though I still wish the daddy messages would disappear. And I'm still not sure if the fans on Tumblr are spamming the Veloxibox quotes because they find it funny or sexual.
Also I want that kitty cat hat Dodger is sporting in the new photo from Resident Enis 2.

I wish they can fix the servers or something since GG is a piece of crap sometimes -_-
I so wanna rip into people that call Mark daddy on twitter, but I am sure there are stupid white knights, and being how I have been feeling lately (depressed) I can't really handle that, but man it's SO tempting. Heck I was so tempted to say something to MSB today on his comment about wanting to do a happy vid instead of a sad vid. Something always holds me back, I hate it but probably for the best in the long run I guess. I will let someone else that's stronger than me rip into them XD
